“The Negro Homo-Shame”

Before you even begin to think this article is going to be filled with disparagingly, unfavorable, remarks towards the people in the LGBT community; I would strongly advise you to be like Brand Nubian and “Slow Down.” As a matter of fact, if you’re taking the time to read this article (thank you btw!) what I have to address might just be for you. As a social commentator, blogger, and future author, I run across all kinds of different trends, styles, and stay up-to-date on current social and political events. If I read an article or watch a video that interest me, I immediately give my honest (and sometimes informed) opinion and I keep it moving like U-Haul trucks. And of course you’ll have people who will like what you’ve said, question what you’ve said, or disagree with what you’ve said. All of the three, I am completely…

“Hillary Clinton, #BlacklivesMatter, & Why We Still Don’t Get It”

imagesI must inform you that as a black man, African, Igbo, Negro, whatever! I do not support the #blacklivesmatter movement. It’s not because I don’t care about the plight of African-Americans in this country or our overall well-being. Perish the thought. I just believe that we cannot say black lives matter until black lives actually matter to black people. I often envy my Mother’s childhood whenever she would have one of those, “I remember way back when,” conversations with me usually around the holidays or when I would volunteer doing some yardwork relaxing on the porch swing once we’d finished. “You know, we never had to worry about locking our doors; not the car door, the front door, nothing–even at night.” I used to cut in during these moments of dreaminess I perceived she was having just for laughs; however, since it brought such blissfulness to her soul just to tell me her childhood during the late 60’s and early 70’s; I just listened only to envision a time she said black America was “still good.” Now this is the point when the melody from that Ahmad record has just stopped. **record scratched** Enter (among many others) the social media warriors known as the #blacklivesmatter movement. A group who was outed several months ago for being funded by “the single most destructive leftist demagogue in the country;” according to Human Events, billionaire financier George Soros. Soros’ borderline extremist group has been very busy making headlines (though they may think its headways) the past few weeks starting in Seattle where they shutdown (?) Democratic Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders; and somehow has managed to get up close in personal with Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton. Unlike the platform hijacking, rambunctious, Negro women who may have thought their valiant efforts mirrored that of the late Fannie Lou Hamer; this encounter with Clinton was much more genteel, respectable, and much more mannerly.

“So what do you want me to do about it?” Imagine if this would have been the former FLOTUS snarky response after the young man’s insightful spiel. He confronted the former Senator about her [Clinton] acknowledging the fact that mass incarcerations from a long history of government practices; has become an unfortunate consequence affecting African-Americans. He continues his colloquy by mentioning “anti-blackness” being a founding problem, America’s first drug was free black labor, and ‘in no uncertain way’ held Clinton partially responsible for those unfortunate government practices (mostly mass incarcerations). Now before I go on, I must state a few things. First of all, this young man is correct when talking about the mass incarceration issue that has exclusively targeted African-American men disproportionately in this country. As the video shows, it was Hillary Clinton who lobbied for lawmakers to back the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act—which her husband signed into law in 1994. It was the largest crime bill in history which provided $9.7 billion in prison funding; again the video shows this. Now I’m no Democrat nor do I have any political affiliations whatsoever; however, if this guy is going to point the blame at Hillary and her husband’s administration, my question for him is who voted for him? I mean, if he’s so moved about these unfortunate consequences of these lengthy “government practices,” well who’s been voting primarily Democrat since Lyndon B. Johnson? Also, since we’re talking about those “practices” aka government policies, whatt about those welfare policies that kicked the man out of the home? If black lives really mattered then wouldn’t we start at wanting to fix its greatest crisis—not police brutality—but the black family? Just like he asked Hillary, I would ask him has his heart changed towards not only these practices, but voting for the same political party that has done nothing for us? Oh how the liberals have taught them so well!

Clinton finally responds to these black lives characters by schooling them about how the political process is actually done. She stated that although the young man’s analysis was fair historically, psychologically and economically; however, they need to come together as a group and have a plan of action. As Mrs. Clinton states:

“Because you can get lip service from as many white people you can pack em’ into Yankee Stadium and a million more like it; who are going to say, ‘we get it, we get it,’ we’re going to be nicer.” “That’s not enough, at least in my book…”

In so many ways she told them instead of making white Americans feel guilty by insinuating them as “sinner’s” by using reverse racism (how ridiculous) you need to have some common grounds to make ‘everyone’ feel better. In other words, neither she nor the Democratic Party wants to address your “anti-black” problem. Maybe this is why the #blacklivesmatter movement is led predominantly by black women who, although may use police brutality in regards to the Mike Brown’s and Eric Garner’s of the world; but in reality it’s nothing less than a front because they’re real intentions are more aligned with the current gender specific issues which affect them directly; so oddly enough they can compare their struggle with the Women’s Liberation and Civil Rights movement of the past.

So in closing, FLOTUS in so many words told not only #blacklivesmatter but black people as a whole that she doesn’t nor has her husband Bill, has ever had a plan of action when dealing with Negroes; except for keeping us where many of us are at as a people—a permanent underclass. Even though (in my opinion) I strongly believe even if we were to enable the funds necessary to control some of these politicians in one way or another; I believe our issues as African-Americans still wouldn’t be addressed in its totality or entirety it deserves. So instead of asking social-political corporate heads like Hillary Clinton about how she feels about what her and her husband’s administration and its effects on black people of the past; why don’t you at least take her advice and do what the gays, the women, and proponents of the so-called Civil Rights movement has done?  But wait a minute, you can’t; because you’re being influenced, brainwashed, and manipulated by the same leftist party who continues to use black folk like guinea pigs. Just glad this isn’t biology class. Let me know what you think.

Peace and love y’all.

Some of my best memories growing up as a kid in the 80’s were the times when I wanted to be like Michael Jackson. Unbeknownst to me, it was during the time when Michael Jackson was at the crown of his career having just released his album entitled; “Bad.” I would spent my time trying to imitate his dances moves, wore one glove pretending it was white; and finish every dance move mimicking Jackson’s patented sounds of “Hee-Hee and Aoww!” This was before hip-hop had my attention and when music was still good enough to listen to on the radio without having to explain why there are so many pauses in a record. Then fast-forward into the 90’s where my adolescence was ‘chin-checked’ if you will when I was told I had been “hoodwinked and bamboozled” from Spike Lee’s movie Malcolm X. I had started middle school and was…

“Hulk Hogan Said What?!”

Hul-Hogan2

Looks like Hulkamania won’t be running wild on anyone anytime soon brother. Yes, the man who’s been telling his fellow Hulkamaniacs to say their prayers and eat its vitamins throughout the years apparently forgot to tell his fanbase that Mr. American can be a “little racist;” just like the rest of us. Those words comes from a tirade of bigoted insults now made public after The National ENQUIRER (of all media outlets) leaked a secretly recorded conversation the WWE legend had about his daughter Brooke sleeping with a guy who was an African-American. In the article, Hogan uses the phrase “F—king N*gger” several times during his heated rant about his daughter making bad choices in life and I guess one those “bad choices” was dealing with an Afro-American Negro; that is unless he’s “8-foot- tall and worth a hundred million dollars.” This story immediately became a trending topic of Twitter with the hashtag #HulkHogan, some like basketball great Dennis Rodman, stood by the Hulkster’s side stating Hogan’s not racist.

I wonder if Rodman is aware of what Hogan said about you basketball N*ggers, I mean players. Moving on, the former “Hogan Knows Best” star reached out to People Magazine and issued a public apology for what many are calling his “inexcusable” remarks:

“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it. This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.”

Because of Hogan’s insensitive comments having gone widespread, WWE owner Vince McMahon (who’s also hurled the infamous N-word) terminated Hogan’s contract effective immediately. Hogan was also removed from the WWE online website and is no longer listed on its Hall of Fame list. As if that wasn’t bad enough for the famed wrestler born Terry Bollea, Forbes.com reports the Hogan controversy cost caused shares of WWE to plummet almost %4 to $16.60, swiping about $50 million from shareholders. Hogan has been a target of media scrutiny over the past several years ranging from his nasty divorce from his ex-wife Linda, to his son Nick being convicted of felony reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, daughter Brooke’s flopping singing career, to a $100 million dollar lawsuit with Gawker Media surrounding what else—a sex tape. Ironically, it is this exact sex tape which involves Hogan’s racist slurs with then girlfriend Heather Clem. Now let me tell you what I think about this whole Hogan fiasco, Brother!

hulk-hogan

“Let me tell you something Mean Gene!” Though I completely understand Hogan’s comments were unacceptable, brash, and downright hateful, he was being secretly recorded and has never made these “racist” statements publicly. To me, he sounded like a frustrated father who admittedly said he invested $2 to 3 million dollars in hopes that his daughter’s singing career would take off. He should have known better; but hey, “Hogan knows best?” This situation is erringly similar to the furor involving former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, Donald Sterling, when he made inflammatory comments he made towards African-Americans while unknowingly being recorded by girlfriend V. Stiviano. The recording resulted in Sterling having to sell his franchise to current owner MicroSoft’s Steve Ballmer for $2 billion. So far Hogan has virtually been eradicated from all things WWE; and one can only hope what lies ahead for the former wrestling great. As far as everyone calling Hogan a racist, do I really need to school you of what a racist really is? If anything, even though some say he was trying to justify his rant, he’s right in saying there’s a little bit prejudice and bigotry [racist] in all of us. Again, I’m not justifying Hogan for doing his best Chet Walker impression on how many times he can say the N-word, but what do think many whites AND blacks say behind closed doors and amongst friends? Bigotry and prejudice exist amongst us all and Hogan is no different. Let’s not even begin to mention how many times some of you Negroes give this “hood or G pass” to many aspiring white artists even down to neighborhood hang-a-longs who “act black” and use the N-word. If y’all are going to have a problem with your so-called oppressor [Hogan] dropping a profuse amount of N-bomb’s in private, than you should be just us as upset when we ourselves do it uncontrollably in public! But I know, it’s different when we say it; my n*gga. It’s a term of endearment for us. Then please explain to me brother, what is a “F**k N*gga” then because I can assure you it’s not an “endearing” phrase.

I strongly believe Hogan will get the Negro hand of fellowship from some public figure (right now it’s Rodman) that many other blacks will call a Coon, just like when Paula Deen made her comeback to television on The Steve Harvey Show after losing several endorsement deals following her N-bomb controversy. So if there’s anything to possibly complain about, it should be how when white public figures fall and become defamed in anyway, they’re able to bounce back and usually carry on a steady career. On the other hand, when black public figures make mistakes they become the proverbial poster child of everything that is wrong with America. People [fans] are unforgivable, their careers become virtually unrepairable, and their consistently reminded of their past indiscretions. Don’t believe me just look no further to Michael Vick.

Dog lovers-a-mania is still running wild on him.

Peace and blessings y’all

The Public Lynching of Bill Cosby

cosby4650

“Ronda [Rousey] has knocked out more women than Bill Cosby…”

-Joel Mchale, 2015 EPSY Awards

I guess this has become the standard ongoing joke at award shows about a man who has accused of raping over 40 different women. Not saying McHale’s joke in particularly, but the notion that if a man, who has not been criminally charged, with raping even one woman; could then become the butt of public ridicule at any given expense. This is the same Joe or in this case Joanne, Public who wants to turn around and have endless discussions, commercials, and petitions about women’s rights and domestic abuse. My question is why haven’t any of the alleged “accusers” come out and say “My abuse or what happened to me [us] with Mr. Cosby shouldn’t be a laughing matter.” Where are those women who, under the watchful eye of Gloria Allred, lead the charge in almost weekly tearful press conferences? Only Beverly Johnson, who has admitted she was never assaulted mind you, is making a press run for the ages talking more about (again) women’s rights than her actual encounter with Cosby; which landed her in taxi cab after she felt woozy and cursed him out. Maybe she’s getting a career makeover from this due to she’s releasing a memoir next month, The Face That Changed It All: A Memoir. Spare me the coincidence.

Staunch Cosby supporters singer/actress, Jill Scott and comedienne Whoopi Goldberg, have also withdrew their support of the 78-year old now infamous comedian. This comes after a deposition was leaked from 2005 in which Cosby admits to giving women Quaaludes during his private encounters. Cosby maintains that his encounters were consensual and denies giving women any drugs without their consent. No make matters even more suspect, since when does a judge decide to release sealed information to the public on the account of the defendant being a social “moralist?” Last time I checked he was talking to the black community by way of his notorious Pound Cake speech; something mostly African-Americans were agitated by. Still, even with accusations allegedly stemming from the 1960’s, not nare one of these women—especially majority of whom are white women—came forward or went to the police. Everyone knows Cosby wasn’t at the apex of his power, fame, and popularity until he single-handedly saved the sitcom genre with The Cosby Show—and we’re talking about the mid-80’s when the show peaked. I bring up Cosby’s perceived power because since when has ANY black man in the history of the corporation called America; has a black man been allowed (that’s right) to exhibit this power these women are claiming? Heck, even O.J. Simpson had his day in court (although he was acquitted) involving a white woman. There’s even a novel which has been has heralded as the most classical piece of literary excellence of the 20th century–Harper Lee’s, To Kill A Mockingbird—which highlights how black men under the slightest hint of rape or even looking at a white woman wrong; were treated in this country. Amazing how the liberal media has amnesia when it comes to its inherently racist core.

To add insult to injury, during President Barack Hussain Obama’s press conference following an address involving the new Iranian nuclear deal, Obama was asked about the sexual assault allegations involving Bill Cosby; and the petition to revoke his US Presidential Medal of Honor. While the President stated there’s no precedent in revoking Cosby’s medal, instead Obama gave his interpretation amidst the allegations of rape:

“If you give a woman—or a man, for that matter—without his or her knowledge a drug and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape.”

So let me get this straight: With everything else going on in this nation ranging from police brutality, black people mysteriously dying in police custody, the unsolved church fires, impending economic collapse, oh, and the fact this press conference was about new Iran nuclear deal? You ask about Bill Cosby, really? If this doesn’t let you know it’s not only about destroying a man’s character and legacy; but about forwarding a cultural Marxist feminist agenda under the disguise of ‘progressively’ dealing with the highly exaggerated demand for women’s rights. As far as who asked the question, her name is April Ryan, a correspondent from the American Urban Public Networks, actually defended her comments per Mediaite.com in saying:

“I had to ask the question. It’s not about me personally. It’s about the issue. Nothing is beyond bounds to ask the President of the United States, and that definitely was a presidential question.”

She might as well as been Judd Apatow at that press conference. This Hollywood director/producer/writer who’s responsible for his notable works The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Freaks and Geeks, has been a vigilant agitator and critic, of Cosby and here recently on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, had more jabs to poke at the infamous comedian.

This is why I am a firm believer that there is NO black Hollywood. For the sake of trying to hold on or revamp their illustrious careers, they’d rather become the antagonist and further alienate a former star. And among those who have decided to point the proverbial finger is Joseph C. Phillips. This actor, who decided peak his head out of theatric obscurity, created a site called “Of Course Bill Cosby Is Guilty,” to further demonize a man who actually played a hand in his initial on-screen success. But in typical negrotude fashion, we will still point to the Pound Cake speech and say that’s what he gets for down-playing the less fortunate and poor. Me personally don’t think he was just talking about poor Negroes rather he was talking about a mentality of victimization. Yes, black folks have lived and managed to some degree, to thrive in a white supremacist culture. That is understood. However, this inferior attitude which was heavy perpetuated by whites is not the whole cause of our demise. That’s what Cosby tried to tell us. Unfortunately, history has always been a teacher when it comes to black people with power and influence. There’s always been the “hidden hand” that if that person were to reject it, it spells the impending doom and destruction when it comes to a Negroes career. Some say Cosby got too big for his bridges when he criticized black folk but to me our media; no matter how liberal it is, has always allowed celebs or political talking head Negroes to air out our dirty laundry. I feel Cosby wasn’t trying to be on a high horse when criticized us, but he invested in us enough that he actually cared. But that’s just my opinion. However, how sad it is that a man nearing his 80’s is being crucified by the same media that he did nothing more than to promote positivity and accomplishments among African-Americans. No one is excusing his adultery to his wife of over 50-years Camille; however, his adulterous ways should have found him out way back in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s by the same accusers that are coming forward now. Maybe Cosby needs to get the memo that the media and Hollywood is like a private, occultic, fraternity; they aren’t friendly to the rich Negro unless he continues to buck dance and step n’ fetch. But you already knew that Sir; maybe you just thought it couldn’t happen to a moralist black man who they love to see point the finger at his own kind. I still stand for Cosby y’all.

My Thoughts on Dr. Umar Johnson’s ‘Striptease’

Before I begin this post, I must admit I am a modest supporter of Dr. Umar Johnson. Now, when I say that, I say it because I don’t agree with all of his ideological stances. I don’t believe in praying to the ancestors, all white people are devils, studying ancient Kemet, or calling each other “Kings and Queens.” The idea of having “knowledge of self” hasn’t really helped the Negro no more than prosperity pimps found in mega churches. I will say, however, just like those who actually study and follow the bible or the Christian faith, if you consider yourself as being a conscious person, Pan-Africanist, black Muslim, whatever! If it works for you AND it helps to the betterment of the black community, I have no problem. My Thoughts on Dr. Umar Johnson’s ‘Striptease’

maxresdefault

Now, in transitioning back to Dr. Johnson, the primary reason why I have followed his messages is because he’s the first person I’ve encountered who’s addressed not only the school to prison pipeline in regards to young black boys; but the mis-diagnosing, special education for monetary gain aspect as well.  Unfortunately, when the leader or progenitor who prides himself as being the “Prince of Pan-Africanism,” a Garveyite, and who’s a direct descendant of Fredrick Douglass (a claim he makes), is found being involved with a stripper—scratch that—a so-called conscious stripper, it really speaks volumes.

I’ve heard all of the arguments like “it’s about the message not the man” or “he’s not married, he’s single so what’s the big deal etc.” and to be clear, no one is faulting him for having a sexual relationship. What he does behind closed doors is between him and whoever he’s involved with. However, when that person who prides herself as being an adult entertainer, aka a stripper, is the person you’re involved with and your name is Dr. Umar Johnson; Houston we have a problem. See, it goes like this: In many people’s eyes Umar is considered a person of high esteem and although still fairly young, some laud him as the new voice of black America—like it or not. A Certified School Psychologist and a Dr. of Clinical Psychology, Umar is sought out motivational speaker and tours endlessly across the nation teaching, exhorting, uplifting and challenges his audiences to become more active in their communities especially when it comes to  childhood education. At the center of this controversy lies the proposed school, the Frederick Douglass & Marcus Garvey RBG International Leadership Academy (FDMG), that he’s currently raising money and receiving donations via a gofundme account. One can only assume the slanderous and relentless assertion of “fraud” has begun to taint the Dr.’s movement, fundraiser, and more importantly; his character.

conscious stripper

The “conscious” stripper (a name she states Umar had given her) real name is Kym Ringgold. Along with being an adult entertainer, she also describes herself as a Lipsync artist and Pan-African activist; you know the typical pro-black jargon in conjunction with the liberation of our people. Apparently, this “conscious” woman has made it her mission in life to expose Dr. Johnson as being a liar stemming from The Roland Martin Radio Show, where Dr. Johnson was a fill in as a guest host for Martin. During the two hour show, the man who is known as being “unapologetically African,” was definitely unapologetic when he stated:

“I’m not sexually active; I’m celibate.”

-The Roland Martin Radio Show, May 6, 2015

Now in most Negroid circles, a man declaring himself as being celibate would render remarks of ridicule, ribbing, or in Negroid terminology suggest that “you don’t have no game.” But remember, this is Dr. Umar Johnson we’re talking about here. Such an attainment of abstinence for any length of time would have been commendable; primarily because he has a pretty sizable female following. Nevertheless, Ms. Conscious let everyone know in an ongoing barrage of tweets, that Dr. Johnson was being anything else but celibate. Let’s just say the conscious aka pro-black community suffered a hit tantamount of when Karrine Steffens wrote her New York Times bestselling book “Confessions of a Video Vixen.”

Social media has allowed people to express themselves in a bevy of ways. It has allowed the common man to film and upload significant events, celebrations, comedic flare, intimate moments and unfortunate tragedies. However, it has also become the place for juvenile debasement, soft porn, social depravity, ghetto buffoonery, violence, and online harassment called trolling. In case with Ringgold and Johnson, one must decipher if this is really about exposing Dr. Johnson or an attempt for social media fame? Would it be farfetched to say she got tired of Umar’s sexual demands so she decided to expose him as being nothing more than your typical “thirsty” Negro?  Let us think for second here, the only reason why this is a story at all is because of her adult profession. Put aside the fact she claims to be conscious, it’s because of the word “stripper” that black folks have become fixated with this story hands down. Not to mention Ms. Conscious is very easy on the eyes; ahem.

I am no way trying to belittle Ms. Ringgold nor excusing Dr. Johnson for his private escapade gone public by way Twitter and Instagram. In my opinion, this is more than about him just “having sex” with someone; it’s speaks volumes to this stripper culture that has become so embedded within the black community that even a sista who considers herself conscious; thinks there’s nothing wrong with being both openly. I started to compared it to a born-again Christian woman claiming to love the Lord while still a stripper, but that analogy is actually a reality by way of Latascha Emanuel; who conducts bible studies nearly bare chested; and she claims to a MINISTER! Even though Ms. Emanuel states she’s an ex-stripper, however, judging by the subtle nudity in her videos, let’s just say she still has a long, long, long, way to go. But as much as many faithful followers of Umar would love to point to big, bad “white supremacy” and deem this woman an agent sent by the government (side eye); this just lets you know that there’s a problem with the leadership and the followers. Much like Negro church congregants institutionalized by religious rituals, denominations, and clerical hierarchy; the worship of man has bewitched many who follow the leaders of the conscious community and Dr. Umar is no exception.

umarstrippergate

I really couldn’t tell you what Ms. Ringgold’s motives were for exposing Dr. Johnson no more than knowing why he continued having sexual dealings with her after he found out she was a stripper. However, what I can conclude is that Dr. Johnson: “You made eh mistake breh.” I understand nobody’s perfect, we have our vices, and we’re infallible beings, I get all of that. But calling your accuser a “maggot” and “a tramp disguised as a Queen,” is not a good look to your fellow “Kings and Queens.” Hopefully Dr. Johnson will provide a rueful public apology to his loyal supporters and followers; while seeking guidance from his elders (or how they say The Elders, lol). As far as him calling Ms. Ringgold a “conscious stripper” goes; one can only hope for Dr. Johnson’s sake that there’s no other “Karrine’s” out there who might be more concerned with exposing him for the attention they can garner and social media likes—rather than for him misleading his supporters for living a double life. Peace.

Last Thoughts On The Kalief Browder Situation…

kaliefbrowder-660

Hmm..where are the protest black America? Why hasn’t this been a trendy topic on so-called black twitter? Every black person should of had a moment of silence held for this young man, but nooo. We rather worry about white cops and yell “hands up, don’t shoot,” make stupid Vine and World Star videos; videos of which we’re usually assaulting one another btw; and follow mindless celebrities so we can create stupid hashtag’s for. It’s like, ever since the death of Trayvon Martin, black people have forgotten how to deal with police. It’s like you forget that we, scratch that, black BOYS AND BLACK MEN, are the targets of these so-called “race soldiers.” Yet, we want to talk back, be disrespectful, and act uncivilized whenever we encounter them [police]. This is not to say that there’s not crooked cops out there because the Eric Garner situation proved that. So while we’re trying to hunt down so-called racist cops, our communities are in shambles. You had residents in Baltimore hold picnics and barbecues to honor Freddie Gray, yet their city is experiencing the highest murder rate in years (over 40 homicides since Gray’s death). Keep thinking police should hold you to higher level of civility when we as a people can’t even be civil with one another.#RIPKALIEFBROWDER

“Steve Harvey Said What?”

6JwGiUNmMhAD

Maybe I should have named this “What did Steve do now?” In case you haven’t heard, Harvey has been receiving some heavy criticism from the black community (yes I said community) these days due to some unnerving comments he made recently on his daytime show. During his “Ask Steve” segment, the retired comedian was asked by a white woman from Greensboro, NC what to do if she finds herself in a conversation with a “history buff” seeing that she is clueless when it comes to that subject. And on cue, Harvey put on his white gloves, shinned up his tap shoes, and told the woman what he do would do and told her to just say, “I don’t really care for slavery, and walk away.” But that’s not all folks. Harvey continued in his sell-out antics to coon for white folks as he further went on to say:

“I don’t give a damn if they’re talking about Christopher Columbus. I don’t give a damn if they’re talking about a treaty. I don’t give a damn about an amendment, a bill; I don’t care what the subject is. It could be prohibition. I don’t care what the subject is. When you get through saying it and I don’t know what the hell you talking about, my favorite line is ‘I don’t give a damn about slavery,’ and walk off.”

Okay, after we’re finished “Uncle Toming” him to no end; my next question for the ones who are upset in black America is: now what? I mean, since we have officially written off Steve Harvey and have included him in the “Coon Club” along with Barkley, Smith, and Cosby; my question still remains the same–now what? I’m not even really here to put down Steve Harvey because we as black so-called community do a real good job of that—to each other. I’m not excusing what he said either and I hope he does apologize for what he said about slavery.
However, what if he doesn’t? Does he become just another black celebrity to add to the ol’ checklist of people we can blog about, talk about, and make YouTube video’s to make ourselves feel better about? It’s been almost five days and Harvey’s jesting remarks haven’t even created a hashtag nor has it even been trendy on Twitter so what does that tell you? You should have known he became “corporate” when they made him be the catalyst to ingratiate Paula Dean’s career back—with the co-sign of black people! Seriously, if we really gave a proverbial “damn” about slavery and our history, then why on the day dedicated to black American people, is one of the most dangerous events during the year? Ever heard of Juneteenth? You know the annual holiday which commemorates the actual abolishing and emancipation of African-American slaves; yea, that one.
Recently, you had writer-comedian Larry Wilmore having to give a public apology for calling black women “bossy” during his “Keep it 100” segment on “The Nightly Show.” Now you might be thinking to yourself why am I bringing this up? Simple, because you had two black men making jokes about one’s own culture yet only one guy—Wilmore–was forced to make amends for his joke, meanwhile, Harvey remains silent. I guess the jovial liberal media doesn’t really care about black people (again) talking about slavery EXCEPT when it involves the usual cast of characters of race baiters, carpetbaggers, and white cops.
Lastly, I heard many people make inferences regarding the Jews and how you would never hear one of them say “I don’t care about the Holocaust” in a joking way. And my retort to that statement is: “you’re right.” However, you and I both know there’s a litany of things you will not see them do—and there’s a bevy of things they incorporate, practice, and value. So again, the question lies what do we value other than having this so-called black monolithic thought? We could go down the list but I rather not because if you aren’t already aware of the current condition of black people; then why waste my time and infuriate your feelings by listing them? See, Steve Harvey and other well to do blacks are not our problem. Actually, many of them still exhibit or reflect some of the traditional family values that used to be found in black America regardless of the socio-economic factors they have worked against the black family. Unfortunately, too many of us are so concerned about “white supremacy” that we remain slaves psychologically and practice racism on ourselves! Don’t believe me? We’re still having movies and symposiums discussing colorization issues and are bi-racial people considered black? So again, while I don’t condone what Steve Harvey said regarding slavery; however, maybe he can say that now because like so many other concerns in black America like fatherhood, lack of family structures, neighborhoods, crime, and education, many of us don’t give a damn either.
